Chimney breast removal – steel beam calculations. 2 steel beams were required to support 2 loft chimney stacks after the front & rear fire-breasts were demolished. A front bay window with an existing beam caused complications, so a second beam was designed perpendicular to the fire breasts. Due to the length of the beam, we designed a central connection bolted splice.
